لا أدري حقّاً...
أي مؤانسة عشتها وأنا أقرأ وأتأمل ما حبّرته أقلام هؤلاء الأدباء مادة هذا الكتاب، الذين علّقوا في سقف روحي دهشاتٍ لا تتوارى أنوارها، ولا يخفت شجوها الحميم، ولا يبهت سحرها الأخاذ!...
كنتُ قد قرأتهم مترجمين في كتب عدة، وعبر مترجمين عدة، وعرفتُ بعضهم من كتب المدارس، ومن حوارات الثقافة، فذهبت إليهم طيَّ خجلي كي لا يعرف أحد منهم أن أحد القرائين الذين لم يتخلصوا من اللعثمة بعد شُغل بهم، فراح يقرأ مكتوبهم؛ قرأت قصصهم ورواياتهم وأشعارهم في البداية لأعرف الحكاية والموضوع اللذين انهموا بهما، فداروا حولهما دورة الباحث عن المعنى العزيز، ولأعرف المجتمعات التي كتبوا عنها، وعن سلوكيات الناس الذين يجولون ويحكون ويتنفسون ويعبّرون ويمشون بين الأسطر كائناتٍ صبغها الحلم بمائه الزلال، والذين يصنعون الحياة بقوة الحبر والمخيلة، ويمدون الرؤى كي تصفو الحياة وتصفو مثل الينابيع، وكي تتلامع الأرواح وتبرق مثل الأنوار، وكي تتقارب قرى الدنيا أكثر فيتآخى الناس، ويصير الحسُّ السليمُ قانونَ الحياة وبغيتها
