ملحة الإعراب ، أرجوزة في النحو سارت بها الركبان ، وطار خبرها بين البلدان ، فذاع صيتها ، وانتشر خبرها ، وظهر في المتعلمين أثرها ، فحفظها الصغار والكبار ، وردَّدوها في الليل والنهار . وهي من تأليف وحيد عصره ، وفريد دهره ، وأديب زمانه ، وعلامة أوانه الإمام أبو محمد الحريري صاحب « المقامات » التي هي أشهر من نار على علم ؛ فقد بزَّ فيها من سبقه ، ولم يلحقه من أتى بعده ، وصاحب « درة الغواص » ، وصاحب هذه الدرة النفيسة ، التي سماها « ملحة الإعراب » . فشرحها العلماء ووضعوا عليها الحواشي . وممن اشترك بهذا المغنم سيبويه عصره وسيوطي زمانه العلامة الأمين الهرري ـ أمده الله بمدده ـ فوضع عليها شرحاً وافياً بعبارة سهلة ميسرة . قال ـ حفظه الله ـ في مقدمة شرحه : ( فقد سألني بعض حذَّاق الإخوان ، ممن عاصرونا في هذا العصر والأوان ، ولازمونا في حرم الله ذي الأمن والأمان : أن أضع لهم شرحاً لطيفاً على « ملحة الإعراب » لأبي محمد القاسم بن علي الحريري البصري ، يعرب مبانيها ، ويَحُلُّ معانيها ، مقتصراً على أرجح الأوجه في إعرابها ، متحاشياً عن الإطناب في حل معانيها ، استغناءً عنه بما سُطِّر في المطولات وشُرح في المبسوطات ، وقصدي به : أن ينتفع به المبتدؤون ، وإن كان لا يستغني عنه من له رغبة من المنتهين ) . وقال الناظم الحريري رحمه الله تعالى في ختام « ملحة الإعراب » : وقد تقضت « ملحة الإعراب » مُودعةً بدائع الآدابِ فانظر إليها نظر المستحسنِ وحسِّن الظن بها وأحسنِ وإن تجد عيباً فسُدَّ الخللا فجل من لا عيب فيه وعلا والحمد لله على ما أولى فنِعْمَ ما أولى ونعم المولى
