إذا ما أردنا لإجابة علي تحديات القرن الحادي و العشرين، ينبغي العودة إلي الديمقراطية: هذا يفترض التعرف علي الأوليجاشية في الواقع نظام يهدف الي الحفاظ علي امتيازات الأغنياء مستهينا بالمشكلات الاجتماعية والبيئية الملحة.
ولأن أزمة البيئة والعولمة تقلب أوراق ثقافتنا السياسية، علي الغرب أن يتعلم ان يتقسم العالم مع بقية سكان الكوكب. ولن يتمكن من ذلك إلا بالخروج من النظام الأوليجارشي، ليعيد اختراع ديمقراطية حية. إذا فشلنا في التوجه الي المدينة العالمية- يقودنا هم التوازن البيئي - سيجرنا الأوليجارشيون الي العنف والتسلط.
في نهاية هذا الكتاب المزود بوثائق دقيقة ولكنها دائما حية. لن يري القارئ السياسة بنفس الصورة.
