يقول ابراهيم البيجوري ذو المجز والتقصير, غفر له ولوالديه الخبير البصير’ ان كتاب الشمايل للامام الترمذي كتاب وحيد في بابه فريد في ترتيبه واستيعابه, حتي عد ذلك الكتاب من المواهب, وطار في المشارق والمغارب, وقد تصدي لشرحه العلماء الاعلام, لكن وقع ببعضهم ما عد من السقطات والاوهام, فسألني بعض الاخوان اصلح الله لي وله الحال والشأن, ان اكتب عليه كتابه منتخبة من الشراح متضمنة للكشف عن اسرار الكتاب مع الايضاح فأجبته لذلك, مع الاعترف بالقصور عن الخوض في هذه المسالك.
رجاء ان استمد من انورا المليح وان تسلمني نفحات صاحب المديح وسميتها (المواهب اللدنية, علي الشمايل المحمدية) جعلها الله خالصة لوجهه الكريم وسببا للفوز بجنات النعيم, نفع الله بها النفع العميم, من تلقاها بلقب سليم, وهذا أوان الشروع في المقصود بعون الملك المعبود.
