كتاب أشرقت أنواره ، وظهرت أسراره ، واشتهرت أخباره ، وأينعت ثماره ، كتاب الشمائل المحمدية للإمام الحافظ المحدث الترمذي رحمه الله تعالى ، الذي سارت به الركبان ، وغرف من معينه القاصي والدان . كتاب حوى شمائل وأخلاق سيد الورى ﷺ ، تميل إليه الأفئدة ، وترتاح إليه النفوس ، وتسر به الأرواح وتنشرح له الصدور ؛ لأنك تتأسى فيه بسيد العالمين ـ عليه الصلاة والسلام ـ بعلم ويقين . قال الإمام الشعراني رحمه الله تعالى : ( كل طريق لم يمش فيها رسول الله ﷺ . . فهي ظلام ، ولا يأمن سالكها من العطب ) . ومعرفة الشمائل تستدعي محبته واتباعه ﷺ في صفاته وسيرته ؛ كسخائه وحلمه وتواضعه ، وزهده وعبادته ، وغيرها من مكارم أخلاقه ، وشرائف أحواله ﷺ ، رزقنا الله وإياكم محبته واتباعه . ألا يا محبَّ المصطفى زِدْ صبابةً وضمِّخْ لسانَ الذِّكر منكَ بطِيبِهِ ولا تعبَأَنْ بالمبطلينَ فإنَّما علامةُ حبِّ الله حبُّ حبيبهِ إن رسول الله ﷺ هو الميزان الأكبر ، فعليه تُعَرض الأشياء : على خُلُقه وسيرته وهديه ؛ فما وافقها . . فهو الحق ، وما خالفها . . فهو الباطل . لقد كتب الله القَبول لكتاب الإمام الترمذي ، وكان مورداً معيناً لمن بعده ، فأقبل عليه العلماء بخدمات متعددة ، فكتبوا الشروح والحواشي ، ومن آخرهم وفاة : الإمام الباجوري ، شيخ الأزهر الشريف ، وشيخ الشافعية المتأخرين ، وقد قال في مقدمة كتابه هذا : ( إن كتاب « الشمائل » للإمام الترمذي من المواهب ، وطار في المشارق والمغارب ، وقد تصدَّى لشرحه العلماء الأعلام ؛ لكن وقع لبعضهم ما عُدَّ من السقطات والأوهام ، فسألني بعض الإخوان ـ أصلح الله لي وله الحال والشان ـ أن أكتب عليه كتابة منتخبة من الشُّرَّاح ، متضمنة للكشف عن أسرار الكتاب مع الإيضاح ، فأجبته لذلك . . . ) . فهو كتاب مهم ، من أنفع كتب الشمائل ، يشهد بجلالة قدره جلالةُ قدر مؤلفه ومحققه ؛ إذ أتحفنا والمسلمين بهذا السِّفر ، المبارك العظيم القدر ؛ ليكون درة على جبين الدهر ، ونرجو من الله القبول ؛ فإنه خير مأمول.
