عن عيد شم النسيم واصلة المصرى الفرعونى البحث يتحدث هذا الكتاب فى إسهاب ليثبت صحة هذا الكلام وينفى ما يقوم بأنه و أصل يهودى أو غير ذلك. ويستعرض المؤلف مظاهر الإحتفال فى هذا العيد وفرحة المصريين بالحصاد فهو بالنسبة إليهم يوم مقدس كما كان عيد الوفاء للنيل أيضاً وكذلك يقارن بينه وبين رمضان عند المسلمين وأوجه التشابه فى بعض الطقوس والعادات هذا بالإضافة إلى تناول ودراسة هذا اليوم فى الحضارات القديمة مثل الحضارة الهندية والصينية والفارسية والفينيقية و غيرها. ولا يقف عند هذا فحسب وإنما يضيف إلى هذه النقاط والمحتويات الرئيسية بعض النقاط المميزة مثل الأطعمة المتناولة فى هذا اليوم و الأغانى التى عناها المصرى القديم والمصرى المصرى الحديث ووجه التشابه بينهما.
