هذا المرض لن يؤدي إلى الموت، وبالرغم من ذلك مات لعازر وعندما أساء التلاميذ / الحواريون فهم ما قاله السيد المسيح فيما بعد "لعازر حبيبنا نام ولكني أذهب لأوقظه" قال لهم بوضوح "لعازر مات" ومن ذم قد مات لعازر بيد أن هذا المرض لا يؤدي للموت، الآن نحن نعرف أن المسيح كان يفكر في المعجزة التي تسمح للمعاينين، "إن أمنوا يرون الله" المعجزة التي أقام فيها المسيح لعازر من الموت، بيد أن هذا المرض ما كان فقط لا يؤدي للموت، ولكنه كان أيضًا كما تنبأ السيد المسيح "بل لاجل مجد الله ليتمجد أبن الله به"، أوه لكن حتى لو لم يقيم المسيح لعازر من الموت، أليس من الحق أيضًا أن هذا المرض، وذلك الموت ذاته، أما كان مرض يؤدي للموت؟ وفيما يقترب المسيح من القبر وصاح بصوت عال "لعازر هلم خارجًا"، ألم يكن واضحًا أن هذا المرض ليس للموت؟ لكن حتى لو لم يقل المسيح هذه الكلمات - أليس هو بالحقيقة "القيامة والحياة" ها قد اقترب من القبر، لكن ليس ذلك إشارة كافية بأن هذا المرض ليس للموت، أليس وجود المسيح يعني بأن هذا المرض ليس للموت؟ من وجهة النظر الإنسانية، فالموت أخر المطاف، ومن وجهة النظر الإنسانية أيضًا، هناك أمل فقط طالما هناك حياة، لكن الموت بحسب المفهوم المسيحي لا يعني نهاية المطاف إطلاقًا، من ثم فهو حدث بسيط ضمن سياق الكل الحياة الأبدية.
