كان الدّرب طويلاً، هربت من كل ما يؤرق بالي إلى تفاصيل القرى التي نعبرها، أخطف المشاهد من خلف زجاج سيارته المعتم.
تبدو شبه خالية من أهلها، كذلك الحقول، مساحات جرداء، حرق الإسرائيلي شجرها كي لا تكون مخبأ للشّباب، بلدات نمرّ بها نسيت اسمها بالكامل، ما عاد أهلها على علم بدروب أحيائها.
لكنّها دافئة، هواؤها يبوح لمحبّيها أنّها ستبقى صامدة، بهذا توحي بيوتها، ناسها الذين لا زالوا يتفقدون جدرانهم القديمة وبقايا أشجارهم، يشقَوْن في تحصيل تصريح للعبور، لأنّهم يتنّفسون من ثراها الكرامة، ويتحسسون هويتهم وإنتماءهم، فيرحلون عنها وهم خارجها أكثر تجذّراً فيها، لا يبتعدون كثيراً حتى يعودوا لينغرسوا في ترابها أجنّة تنتظر ولادتهم الأرض بعد حين.
