ان الدبلوماسي الناجح هو الذي يضيف الي اتقانه لكل عناصر الدبلوماسية ، وثقافته الواسعة واتقانه للغات ، وشخصيته الواثقة الهادئة المتحكمة في ردود فعلها ، تمرسه في فن المفاوضات واختيار كلمات الصياغة الدقيقة ، وهو الذي يكمل كل هذه الحصيلة بألمامه التام وتنفيذه والتزامه بكل قواعد البروتوكول والاتيكيت . عالجت صفحات الكتاب بعض هذه القواعد وتحدثت عن الاسبقيات بين الدول والرؤساء وعن الاوسمة والانواط ثم مواسم الولائم وترتيب الموائد في الحفلات . كما تعرض باختصار شديد عن الوجه الاخر للدبلوماسية وللدبلوماسى ، والمشاكل التي يتعرض لها ، ومعاناته هو واسرته ، والسلبيات التي تؤثر علي حسن اداء السفارة مما ينتج عنه ابتعاد المواطنين واستياؤهم مع قليل من الحقد علي ما ينعم به الدبلوماسي من مميزات في الوت الذي يردد فيه الدبلوماسي التشبيه الغريب ، بأنه كراكب الاسد يحسد الناس علي موقعه وهو ادري الناس بمخاطره . انه كتاب لا غني عنه للدبلوماسي المبتدئ ولم يزل في اول الطريق كما انه يهم زوجة او من تفكر في الارتباط باحد افراد السلك الدبلوماسي ناهيك عما يحتوي من ثقافة رفيعة في امور الاتيكيت والبروتوكول وتنظيم الحفلات والملابس الرسمية والاوسمة والنياشين والانواط .
