وعلى الرغم من إنشغالاته التعليمية، سيتحمل إيغناسيو راموني لفترة طويلة، امتدت ما بين سنة 1990 و 2008، منصب مدير تحرير صحيفة "لوموند دبلوماتيك Le Monde Diplomatique"، وهي الصحيفة الفرنسية الشهرية الرصينة والمتخصصة في الشؤون الدولية؛ كما سيشغل الرجل كذلك، منصب مدير تحرير مجلة: "مانيير دو فوار Manière de voir"، التي تصدر مرة كل شهرين.
ويعتبر إيغناسيو راموني، بالإضافة إلى كل تلك الإهتمامات التعليمية والصحفية، الأب الروحي والرئيس الشرفي لجمعية: "أطاك ATTAC" "الجمعية الدولية المناوئة للإتجاهات المتوحشة، التي تنهجها العولمة الليبرالية".
وإلى جانب ذلك، يعد الرجل مؤسساً لمنظمة: "ميديا ووتش غلوبال Media Watch Glob" غير الحكومية، ومساهماً فعالاً في المنتدى الإجتماعي العالمي ببورتو أليغري، كما أنه يعمل كخبير مستشار لدى الأمم المتحدة.
حصل إيغناسيو راموني على عدة جوائز، من بينها جائزة "ليبر بريس" كأحسن صحفي لسنة 1999 بخيرونا (إسبانيا)، وجائزة "كولومب دور" كأحسن صحفي أجنبي مدافع عن السلام بروما (إيطاليا)، سنة 2000، وجائزة أحسن صحفي مدافع عن حقوق الإنسان بلا كورون (إسبانيا)، سنة 2001.
وقد ألف إيغناسيو راموني مجموعة من الكتب، حول القضايا الجيوسياسية، وحول دور الإعلام في الهيمنة والإستبداد الفكري والإيديولوجية، من بين تلك الكتب المتميزة، نذكر على سبيل التمثيل لا الحصر، كتاب "علكة العيون" (1980)، و"وسائل الإتصال والتواصل بإعتبار ضحية المتاجرين" (1989)، وكتاب مشترك مع نعوم تشومسكي Naom Chomsky بعنوان:"moto Cómo nos venden la moto" (1995)، و"سلط جديدة، وأسياد جدد للعالم" (1996)، و"هيمنة الإتصال والتواصل" (1999)، و"ما بعد التلفزيون" (2002)، و"حروب القرن الحادي والعشرين" (2002)، وغيرها كثير.
