لا شك أن العلاّمة السيد محمد بن علوي بن عباس المالكي المكي الحسني، رحمه الله تعالى، كان عين أعيان علماء مكة المكرمة في العقود الأخيرة بعد رحيل شيوخه الكرام كوالده والشيخ حسن المشّاط وطبقتهم.
وقد خرّج معهده بمكة المكرمة أجيالاً من الطلبة، وانتفع به الجمع الغفير من زوّار الحرمين الشريفين، وكان منزله مستراداً للكثير من العلماء والصلحاء في مواسم الزيارة، يجدون فيه غاية الإحتفاء والإكرام.
كما ترك السيد المالكي تراثاً علميّاً متنوع الموضوعات، كان ثمرة مسيرة الطويلة في تدريس العلوم، ومنها علم التوحيد.
وتأتي هذه الأطروحة الجامعية لتتناول بالدراسة جهود السيد المالكي في هذا العلم الشريف، ومنهجه في بحث المسائل العقدية والإستدلال لها، وما كان يذهب إليه فيها من آراء، وتناولت الأطروحة بطبيعة الحال سيرة السيد وحياته وتراثه، معتمدة على المصادر المدوّنة وعلى المصادر الشفاهية من أسرة السيد وطلبته وأحبابه.
