حيث تقرأ في مذكرات "علي" ذلك الفصل الذي يتحدث عن "مروة" وتلك الجمل المفعمة بالسعادة عن شعوره نحوها والتي تتسلل بين حين وآخر في فصول ومواقف أخرى من مذكراته، تشعر وكأنه صفحات "مروة" بالذات تشرق وتشع بنور خفي غامض وسط صفحات هذه المذكرات جميعها.. إنها صفحات تنطق من تلقاء نفسها بل وتصرخ بأن "مروة" هذه كانت شعاع النور في حياة "علي" على حد وصفه هو لها، كتب "علي" في مذكراته التي خبأها بعناية في درج مكتبه كي لا يطلع عليها أحد:
أما شعاع النور الذي تسلل لأول مرة إلى حياتي.. فكان حينما رأيت "مروة" لأول مرة.. قطعة من الشيكولاتة الجذابة ممتزجة بالبسكويت والفراولة.. ولكنها شيكولاته حارة توقظ القلب النائم من رقاده.. حلم ذهبي ممزوج بأشعة الشمس وقوس قزح معاً.. تقطر ندى ورقّة كنبتة خضاء ترتجف انتشاء بالطبيعة، وقد خرجت لتوها من الماء الذي انحنت لتلامس سطحه المنعش.. أو أرنب صغير يرمش بعينيه فرحاً بضوء شمس النهار..
