يمثل هذا الكتاب محاولة لعرض وتحليل الأنشطة الرئيسية التي يمارسها البنك التجاري بأسلوب معاصر، وقد اعتمد المؤلف في وضع اللبنات الأساسية لهذا الكتاب على الإعمال التقليدية للبنوك والأنشطة المعاصرة في إدارتها، ولا بد من الاعتراف بالفضل الكبير للمؤلفات العربية والأجنبية التي ساعدتني في انجاز هذا المؤلف، ولابد من توجيه الشكر والتقدير إلى الأساتذة من قسم العلوم المالية والمصرفية الذين أتاحوا لي الفرصة في تدريس مادة إدارة البنوك.
وقد تضمن الكتاب ثمانية فصول كان الفصل الأول حول المقدمة في إدارة البنوك والثاني بشأن الهيكل التنظيمي والقوائم المالية للبنوك والفصل الثالث في كيفية إدارة الموجودات والمطلوبات المصرفية، والفصل الرابع حول كيفية إدارة القروض والاستثمارات المصرفية أما الفصل الخامس فكان حول مخاطر البنوك وإدارة هذه المخاطر وعرض المؤلف في الفصل السادس التعثر المصرفي وأسبابه وتضمن الفصل السابع التسويق المصرفي والتسويق الالكتروني وفي ختام الكتاب تم عرض الفصل الثامن حو اتفاقيات بازل وكفاية رأس المال وبعض القوانين والتشريعات المالية والمصرفية في الأردن.
