إن إخراج الكتب القديمة التي تناولها التحريف والتشويه. مثل كتب ابن سينا وغيره. يقصد به تخليصا من التحريف والتشويه. وإعادتها إلى الوضع الذي صدرت به عن صاحبها ومؤلفها. أو إلى وضع أقرب ما يكون من هذا الوضع. وليس من هذا في شئ -فيما أعتقد- أن يجمع كل ماتصل إليه اليد من نسخ. ثم يؤخذ منها شئ حسبما اتفق ليوضع في الصلب ثم تؤخذ باقي الأشياء لتوضع في الهامش.
وإن صح أن يكون ذلك شيئاً في الإخراج. قهو عندي أدون الأشياء فيه وأقلها، لأنه لا يزيد عن حشد المادة المنسوبة إلى المؤلف وجمعها في صعيد واحد. والأمر الذي لاشك فيه أن هذه المادة كلها وبصورتها المشوهة المحرفة، المتضاربة المتناقضة لم ترد عن المؤلف. فليس لجمعها في صعيد واحد فائدة أكثر من لم شعث هذا المتفرق المتناثرة وصيانته في نسخة واحدة. وكتابته بحروف واضحة. وعلى ورق صقيل.
ولكني رغم ذلك لست ممن يطيب لهم الرضا بالوقوف عند الوسائل. ولاممن يرضون أن يتخذوا من الوسائل غايات. بل من أولئك الذين يفهمون أن الوسائل وسائل فقط. وأن وراء الوسائل غايات وإذا كان لابد من الوسائل. فلابد أيضاً من الغابات.
على أساس من هذا الطموح العلمي حاولت الإخراج، فلم أقف عند خلافات بعض النسخ التي أكدت لي خبرتي العلمية أنها تحريف من النساخ، لم أقف هذه الوقفة لأني أريد أن أخطو إلى الأمام خطوة، لا أريد أن أشغل نفسي بما هو خطأ، لأتفرغ لما هو صواب. ولا بأس أن نتنافس في هذا الجانب، فليقم كل بدوره في هذا المضمار، وربما يتراءى غير ما تراءى لي، وعند حك الأفكار بعضها ببعض، سينجلي الأمر. وسيتبين صوابه وخطئ. أوصوابي وخطؤه، وفي انجلاء الأمر على هذا النحو التقاء، ولكنه التقاء في أثناء الطريق، ولا وقوف في بداية الطريق، وذلك كسب للعلم، فالخسارة أن نظل في البداية.
