في ظننا أن القسم الأعظم من كتب التاريخ في العالم، كُتب عن الأتراك والشعوب التركية، ولهذا أسبابه. وقد نُشرت وسوف تنشر مؤلفات عديدة بلغات كثيرة، عن الأويغور الذين يتبوأون مكانة مهمة جدًا بين الشعوب التركية.
وقد نشرت في تركيا بعض الأبحاث المتعلقة بالأويغور والدول الأويغورية التي تشكلت عبر التاريخ. وقسم من هذه الأبحاث يتعلق بالأويغور، والقسم الآخر عبارة عن فصول تحتل مكانها داخل كتب التاريخ الأخرى. وفي الصين أيضًا، أجري مؤرخون صينيون أبحاثًا عن الأويغور، وكان من الطبيعي ألا تلق هذه الأبحاث أهتمامًا من الأويغور لكونها تعكس الرؤية الرسمية للصين. وهذا الكتاب الذي بين أيديكم هو أهم كتبه المؤرخون الأويغور، بعد «تاريخ التركستان الشرقية» لمحمد أمين بُوغرا.
وهذا الكتاب الذي كتبه تورغون آلماس اعتمادًا علي المصادر الصينية لكونها مصادر لها وزنها إلي جانب المصادر الروسية والمؤلفات المترجمة عن اللغات الأوروبية، فضلًا عما هو مكتوب بلهجات تركية مختلفة، هذا الكتاب أزعج المسئولين الصينيين بدرجة لا يستهان بها، وتم منعه في الصين. ذلك لأن ما رواه تورغون آلماس في هذا الكتاب لم يتطابق مع ما رواه المؤرخون الصينيون.
وكتاب «تورغون آلماس» هذا الذي بين أيديكم، ترجمه حامد حمراييف إلي اللغة الروسية. إن تحليلات تورغون آلماس للشخصيات التركية التاريخية في المصادر الصينية القديمة تختلف علي وجه العموم مع تحليلات المؤرخين الأتراك والروس والغربيين. وعلي سبيل المثال فإن تورغون آلماس حينما يتحدث عن أقوام الهون فإنه لا يستخدم علي الإطلاق اسم «مته» أو «ماوطون». ويستخدم بدًلا منه اسم باتور تانريقوت الذي يبدو عندما نقرأ تاريخ «أسرة هان» أنه كان محقًا في هذا، إذ يري الأويغور أنفسهم أحفادًا مباشرين للهون، وهذه هي الحقيقة التاريخية. وخير مثال علي هذا أن محمود الكاشغري في كتابه (ديوان لغات الترك) لم يتكلم عن السلاجقة مطلقًا. رغم أنه تكلم كثيرًا عن القراخانيين، وذلك بسبب أن الأويغور يرون أنفسهم أحفادًا لأفرأسياب.
