هذا هو الكتاب الثانى للمهتمين بقضية إعداد معلم العلوم والتربية العلمية. ويتكون الكتاب من خمسة فصول إضافة إلى فصل تمهيدي في بداية الكتاب والذي يتناول مقدمة عن أهداف تدريس العلوم والتربية العلمية . أما الفصل الأول فقد اهتم بعرض ستة مداخل تستخدم في تدريس العلوم والتربية العلمية . وفي الفصل الثاني تم تناول أحد الموضوعات الهامة المرتبطة بتدريس العلوم , وهو موضوع الفلسفة البنائية وكيفية تدريس العلوم وفقا لهذه الفلسفة . أما الفصل الثالث فكان محوره واحداً من أهم أهداف تدريس العلوم والتربية العلمية , وهو التفكير العلمى ومهاراته وبرامج تعليم هذه المهارات . أما الفصل الرابع فقد ألقي الضوء على أهم نظريات التعليم وكيفية توظيفيها واستخدامها في تدريس العلوم والتربية العلمية . وفي الفصل الخامس والأخير تم تناول بعض الأنشطة التي يمكن ممارستها خارج غرفة الصف التعليمي , ويكون لها دور فعال في التربية العلمية .
