إن ما يتضمنه هذا الكتاب المُخَصَّصُ لهذا الإمام الحافظ: أولاً: "دراسة حول حياته وآثاره"، فحرص أن تكون وافية وشاملة وناظمة لأشتات ما تفرق عن حياته، وجوانب شخصيته العلمية، وأحواله، ورحلاته، وغير ذلك، ثانياً: "معجم شيوخه"، جمع من مختلف كتب التاريخ والتراجم وغيرها، وقد قدم بدراسة حول "المعجم"، ثالثاً: "المنتقى من مسلسلات أبي بكر ابنِ مَسْدي"، إنتقاء برهان الدين ابن جماعة الكناني (ت: 764هـ)، وهو من آثار المؤلف الحديثية الدالة على سعة روايته وعلوِّها، والتي لم تبلغنا كاملة، إنَّما بلغنا هذا المنتقى منها، وقد قدَّم لها دراسة حول الكتاب"، رابعاً: "الفوائد المدنية" رواية الحافظ ابنِ بنت الجُمَّيْزِي (ت: 649هـ) وهي من تخريج الحافظ ابن مَسْدِي (ت: 663هـ)"، وهذا الكتاب قدمتُ له بدراسة عن الشيخ المخرَّج له، وبيَّنت أنه من آثار ابنِ مَسْدي الشاهدة على علوِّ كعبه في علم الرجال والعلل، وأخيراً: "الفوائد المنتخبة".
وهي مجموعة من الآثار والإنشادات والمُلَح التي ذيَّل بها الحافظ ابن مسدي أحد الأجزاء الحديثية التي يرويها، وقد حققتها وقدَّمت لها.
