"طلقةُ كارلوس" هو الكتاب الثاني في سلسلة شلّة أمير الزاراكان بعد الكتاب الأول "زيروشينكا"، وفي الكتابين يتابع الكاتب ناصر المعيلي أحداث الرحلة التي يخوضها أبطاله "شلّة أمير الزاراكان" الذين غادروا عالمهم الواقعي ودخلوا عن غير قصد بوابة عالم موازٍ مثيرٍ للدهشة وهم يجوبون المحيط على متن مركبة جو – مائية بعد تدمير زاركينون مدينة "زيروشينكا"، وقبل الانهيار الكبير كانت غواصة اللاجئين "طلقة البحر" أو "طلقة كارلوس" هي الخيار الوحيد للنجاة، لكن الالتحاق بتلك الغواصة سوف تسبقها شروط وقواعد لن تنتهي إلا بمفاجآت لا تخطر على بال.
يمكن قراءة هذا العمل على أنه نوع من نزع المألوفية عن الحياة الإنسانية بصورة تخييلية قادرة على مباغتة المتلقي، وتكسير أفق انتظاره، وتحفيزه على إعادة النظر في نفسه والكون المحيط به، ومن ثم تكوين إدراك جديد قادر على التعامل مع فجائية اللامألوف المقتحم للعالم المألوف؛ بمعنى أن النص الذي يقرؤه المتلقي يصبح فضاء تتفكك فيه نماذج المعقولية بفعل اقتحام الخوارق لما هو مألوف في عالمه الواقعي؛ وهو اشتغال حداثي نجح صانعه الكاتب المبدع ناصر المعيلي في كسر قوالب الكتابة الواقعية التقليدية إلى أخرى حداثية، أكثر انفتاحاً وتجديداً في الرواية العربية.
