هذا الكتاب مواجهة هادئة وقوية، بين الإبداع والإتباع، بين الإجتهاد والتقليد، بين الحرية والإستلاب، بين الإستقلال والتبعية.
ليست مواجهة دينية ولا مذهبية، ولا سياسية ولا إدّيلوجية، ولا خطابية ولا إنشائية؛ فطالما سمعنا المثقفين العرب يلوكون هذه المصطلحات الكبيرة وهم يتجادلون، فيرمي بعضهم بعضاً بالتقليد والإستلاب والتبعية؛ وينسب كل طرف لنفسه فضيلة الإبداع والإستقلال والحرية، دون أن يقدم بين يدي زعمه دليلاً من منطق أو شاهداً من عمل، ولكنهم مواجهة علمية فلسفية برهانية، تقوم على ضبط المفهوم، وتدقيق العبارة، وإحكام المنطق، وتعزيز الدليل، وإحضار الشاهد، وإقامة الحجة، وإنجاز الفعل، وتقديم البديل.
فالكتاب قراءة هي فكر الفيلسوف العربي المعاصر طه عبد الرحمن، ولا مدخل إلى فكر طه عبد الرحمن أجدر بالعناية من مدخل الإبداع موجهاً للإتباع؛ ذلك أن هذه الجدلية ظلت ردحاً من الزمن قائمة في مجال التداول العربي والإسلامي على غير أصولها؛ يرفع الرافعون شعارات الإبداع ولا إبداع، وينسب الناسبون أنفسهم إلى الحرية ولا حرية، ويدّعي المدّعون الولاء للحداثة ولا حداثة.
ويتهجم المتهجمون على التقليد وهم عاكفون عليه، ويذمّ الذامون الأتّباع وهم غارقون فيه؛ فكأن المصطلحات انفصلت عن مفاهيمها، والألفاظ خانت معانيّها.
والعبارات فقد دلالائها؛ وكأن الفكرّ أن نزعم ما تشاء كما تشاء دون قانون ضابط ومنطق قائم ومنهج متوسَّل؛ وكأنما يكفي أن تزعم ليصبح لك الزعم، ويكفي أن تنتسب ليصح لك النسب، ويكفي أن تتهم لتلتصق بخصومك التهمة!...
عسى أن نكون أسهمنا بهذا الكتاب في تقريب مشروع طه عبد الرحمن الفلسفي من مدارك أهل الإهتمام، وعسى أن نكون بذلك فقد أسهمنا في التقدم خطوة أخرى في طريق تقويم مسار الفكر العربي المعاصر - والله تعالى نسأل أن يتقبّل منا هذا العملّ، وأن يبارك فيه ويزكّيه.
