Dans ce récit « extime », l'auteur nous raconte, entre autres souvenirs personnels, la galère, la censure, la débrouillardise ainsi que les subterfuges qui étaient le quotidien de nombre d'éditorialistes, d’éditeurs ou de jeunes journalistes de cette époque, et le souffle iconoclaste qui les animait.
