إن وقوع ساحل مدين ضمن مشروع نيوم العالمي، وماشهده من متغيرات متسارعة أثمرت عن شكل جديد للمكان، جعلني مثقلا جداً بهم إخراج مادة تشمل كافة نواحي ساحل مدين، لذا لم أكتف فقط بكتابة الوقائع التاريخية، ونفح الروح في الأحداث الميتة لتدب فيها الحياة من جديد، بل عكفت على البحث عن معطيات تقدم صورة واضحة عن النواحي الاجتماعية والفكرية لما كان عليه حال سكان ساحل مدين، فبحثت في الآداب لأنها مرآة المجتمعات، وكان عليَّ جمع القصائد الشعبية وتحليلها لأنفذ من خلالها إلى بعض تفاصيل حياة أسلافنا كما أنني جمعت شتات الحكايات الشعبية لأطل من نافذتها على أفكار ومعتقدات سكان ساحل مدين، وسلطت الضوء على شخصيات طرزت التاريخ، وأخرى مازالت تنسجه، وكان لابد لي من وقفة مع المثيولوجيا؛ فمن خلالها فقط أستطع أن أكون ملمحاً واضحاً عن حضارة ساحل مدين، ومدى تأثرها بالحضارات المجاورة.
