لعل دراسة الإلهة آناهيتا تجُذر الأصول عبادة الآلهة الأم ووظائفها في الميثولوجية الإيرانية القديمة، ويحلُّ غموض مُتشابهاتها في الميثولوجيات الأخرى، ويُنهي اللبس المُعقّد الذي اختلف فيه الباحثون والكُتّاب عن أصول هذه الإلهة.
يحاول المؤلف في هذه الدراسة تقديم تفسير لهذه المُتماثلات على وفق مفهوم البؤرة وإمتدادات تأثيراتها على الأطراف، فالبؤرة هي (إنانا / عشتار) الرافدينية، وأطرافها يتمثَّل بإمتداداتها في الميثولوجيات الأخرى، لا سيَّما أنَّ ثمَّة مُتماثلات في وظائف هذه الإلهة مع الآلهة الإناث الأخرى، ومنها الإلهة أناهيتا.
