جاء هذا البحث ليحاول رصد ملامح التحوّل الكبير في الكتابة العربية والتأسيس النظري له، وكشف العوامل التي أدّت إلى إنتاج هذا الجنس الأدبي الجديد، من عوامل ثقافية وحضارية، وقراءة السيرورة التي مرّت بها الشعرية العربية الحديثة، ثم محاولة وضع الحدود لمفهوم النص المفتوح ومرجعيته وتلقيه.
حاولت هذه الدراسة بالإحاطة بالتحولات التي شهدتها الكتابة العربية، في إنتقالها من الشعر العمودي إلى النصِ المفتوح، ووضع مفهوم له، ومعرفة أصول الإنفتاح الفلسفية فيه، ومرجعيته الغربية والعربية، وسماته ومكانه في التلقي العربي، للوصول إلى فهم للنصِ المفتوح، يحيط بأبعاد موضوعه على نحو شامل، وقد اجتهدت في كشفِ الخطوط المتوازية للحداثة العربية، من القصيدة العمودية إلى النص المفتوح.
ولا شك أنَّ الدراسات، التي تحاول التأسيس والتنظير والكشف عن القواعد لأساليب الإبداع الجديدة وطرائقها، تحظى بأهمية خاصة، لأنَّها تدخل في تشكيل الجهد العربي في إقامة نظرية الأدب العربي الحديثة، وتوجيه الإبداع نقدياً، والكشف عن الجماليات الجديدة فيه، ولا سيما أنَّ النص المفتوح يشكّلُ ظاهرةً كبيرةً في الكتابة العربية الراهنة، لها ولدراستها أهمية خاصة، بوصفها التطور الأخير الذي بلغته الكتابة العربية، الذي انتقل بها إلى شكل جديد، مختلف تماماً عمّا اعتاده العرب من أشكال إبداعية تقليدية أو محدَّثة.
وكان منهج الدراسة قائماً على التتبع والإستقصاء، الذي يراعي التسلسل التأريخي للأحكام النقدية، والتحليل المستند إلى المناقشة الهادفة، في الوصول إلى التفكير والمعرفة العربية، التي قامت عليها نظرية النقد العربية الحديثة، في إشتغالها على النص المفتوح.
