أليس الإنسان كلما ازداد حميمية وعاطفة يزداد تمسكاً بالمكان ويشتد صراعه مع الزمن في محاولة لإيقافه. كأني بالفنون كلها يستحوذ عليها هذا الهاجس، فهي تحاول أن تروض الزمن وتتحايل عليه لكي تتشبث بالأمكنة. وتخلق أزمنة وهمية خاصة بها تتناسب مع أهواء مبدعيها وأخيلتهم. المسرحيون يحتاجون للمكان والزمان ليجسدوا مسرحهم. والموسيقى تحتاج حيزاً من الزمن لسماعها والإنشاء نوتاتها وعلاماتها وفواصلها الزمنية. بينما اللوحة الفنية هي مشهد أو حدث تطهّر حتى من زمنه.
اللوحة كانت مدهشة بحيلتها إذ وضعت الميقاتية بين أيدي مشاهديها فقط، وصرخت بهم أعيروني زمناً يناسبكم ينما أنا قد اقتنصت مشهدي لأخلده وتطهرت من الزمن.
