إن ظاهرة تزايد الاهتمام بالبحث العلمي ما هي إلا انعكاس لتزايد الحاجة في المجتمع نحو إجرائه، حيث تواجه الإنسان مشاكل وتحديات مختلفة تتطلب احتواءها وإيجاد سبل معالجتها. وأفضل طريقة لمواجهة هذه المشاكل بشكل عقلاني وموضوعي، هي الإعتماد على أسلوب إجراء بحوث متخصصة، تتناول دراستها، وضع حلول ومعالجات مناسبة لها، وبالرغم من النتائج الإيجابية المصاحبة لعملية التطور التكنولوجي في هذا المجال، فإن التطور يكتنفه- من جانب آخر- العديد من المشاكل والظواهر السلبي، لذلك فإن الحاجة إلى إجراء البحوث ستكون مستمرة ومتجددة، طالما أن هناك مشاكل وحاجات متزايدة. كما يلاحظ في مجال البحث العلمي أن الدول والشركات والمصانع أصبحت تتنافس فيما بينها في إعداد البحوث، وإن النقص الذي تعاني منه المكتبة العربية في مجال المصادر المتعلقة بالبحث العلمي، إضافة إلى افتقار المتوفر منها للشمولية والوضح، كما وأن البعض منها يتجه نحو التخصص الدقيق في حقول علمية دون أخرى، مثل التخصص في مجال التربية أو علم الإجتماع أو الجغرافيا وغيرها. كل هذا كان حافزاً أساسياً للمؤلفين لإعداد هذا الكتاب أو المقرر المنهجي، وفيه (الفصل الأول: البحوث العلمية، الفصل الثاني: الأطر المنهجية للبحث العلمي، الفصل الثالث: إجراءات البحث العلمي، الفصل الرابع: تحليل وتفسير البيانات، الفصل الخامس: الكتابة النهائية للبحث)، ولقد أعد الكتاب بطريقة تجعله- إن شاء الله تعالى- عوناً للطلبة في مختلف اختصاصاتهم، لإعداد البحوث والرسائل الجامعية، وقد حرصنا أن تكون مضامين الكتاب، وكذا اسلوب إعداده، مشتملين على كافة الأمور المتعلقة بالبحث العلمي ومنهجيات كتابته، كما أنه يعتبر مرجعاً للباحثين بمختلف تخصصاتهم العلمية.
