يكشف فيكتور أوستروفسكي في هذا الكتاب عن قصة الموساد الإسرائيلي من الداخل وذلك من خلال كشفه عن الحقائق، كما عرفه في غضون أربع سنوات بفضل مركزه في الموساد. وفيكتور هذا ينحدر من عائلة صهيونية متحمسة جداً، وكان (وكما يذكر هو) قد تمّ تلقينه بأنه دولة إسرائيل هي قادرة على فعل السود، فهم أي الإسرائيليون مثل داوود في صراعه غير المنتهي ضد جوليات، وأنه ليس هناك من يحميهم إلا هم أنفسهم، ويضيف قائلاً بأن هذا الشعور قد عزز من بقي على قيد الحياة من جماعة الهولوكوست الذين عاشوا. ويقول بأنه تمّ تشريفه عندما تمّ اختياره ومنحه امتياز الانضمام إلى ما كان يعتبره الفريق المنتخب من الموساد.
ويشير هنا إلى ما دفعه إلى رواية هذه القصة أي قصة الموساد الإسرائيلي في هذا الكتاب هو ما وجده من مثل ملتوية وبراغماتية متقوقعة على الذات داخل الموساد، فضلاً عن جشع الفريق، وطمعه وعدم احترامه للحياة الإنسانية ويضيف فيكتور أوستروفسكي قائلاً بأن حبه لإسرائيل كدولة حرة وعادلة جعله يعرض حياته للخطر من خلال نشره هذا الكتاب، واقفاً من أجل ذلك في وجه هؤلاء الذين أخذوا على عاتقهم تحويل الحلم الصهيوني إلى الكابوس الذي يشهده العالم في هذه الأيام. ويوضح فيكتور إلى أن منظمة الموساد، التي تعتبر جهازاً للمخابرات الذي عهد إليه بمسؤولية التخطيط للزعماء الذين يقودون الأمة، قامت بخيانة هذه الثقة، ولأنها تقوم بالتخطيط لمنفعتها ولأسباب تافهة تخدم أطماعها، وضعت هذه الموساد الأمة اليهودية على طريق يحكمها الصدام والحرب مع كل ما هو خارج الدولة.
ويضيف الكاتب اليهودي قائلاً بأنه لم يستطع البقاء صامتاً أكثر من ذلك، وهو بذات الوقت لم يستطع المجازفة بمصداقية هذا الكتاب بإخفاء الحقيقة خلف أسماءٍ مستعارة وهويات غامضة إلا أنه قام باستخدام الأولى للأسماء الأخيرة لبعض الأشخاص وذلك من أجل حمايتهم من أي خطر، فإن ما حدث حدث ولا يمكن التراجع عنه. هذا ونظراً لأهمية هذا الكتاب تمت ترجمته إلى اللغة العربية ليكون رهن يد القارئ العربي ليكون على معرفة وثيقة بتحركات ذلك الجهاز الإسرائيلي الذي يحكم العالم المعاصر.
