هذا الكتاب محاولة للوقوف علي التعريف العلمي والمحدد لفيروس "H1N1" المعروف باسم "انفلونزا الخنازير" وكيفية انتقاله إلي الإنسان والوقاية منه، دون تهويل أو تضليل، خاصة بعد التناول المتناقض لوسائل الإعلام والتصريحات المغلفة حول امكانية السيطرة علي المرض.. ورغم أن هناك بعض الإرشادات الوقائية البسيطة التي يمكن بها تجنب الإصابة، في الوقت الذي تتزايد فيه المخاوف من التطعيم بلقاح التاميلفو المضاد للفيروس- خاصة أنه تم إنتاجه علي عجل دون التريث والتوصل لنتائج التجارب التثبتية علي الحيوان ثم الإنسان، واللازمة لإجازة أي دواء كما هو معمول به في الحقل الطبي- فإن الشركات المصنعة للقاح طالبت بالحصول علي حصانة من الملاحقة القانونية والقضائية، وهو ما فتح باب الشك حول الأضرار التي تنتج عن التطعيم بهذا المصل.
