تعتمد هذه الدراسة، أساساً، على الأرشيفات الإسرائيلية لعرض ما تعرّض له دروز فلسطين من سياسات ومخططات صهيونية وإسرائيلية منذ ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين حتى أيامنا هذه. وتتتبع كيفية نجاح المؤسسة الإسرائيلية السياسية في فرض التجنيد الإجباري على أبناء الطائفة الدرزية الفلسطينية، وحركات مقاومة هذا التجنيد التي ما زالت فاعلة في المجتمع الدرزي الفلسطيني حتى اليوم. وتحلّل هذه الدراسة تأثير انتقال الطائفة الدرزية الفلسطينية، من العمل في الزراعة إلى العمل في سلك الأمن الإسرائيلي، في سلوك المجنّدين من أبناء الطائفة الدرزية في الدولة الصهيونية، وفي بعض نخبها التي تستخدم خطاباً يشبه خطاب المرتزقة في مطالبتها الحصول على حقوق متساوية. وتتغاضى الدراسات الصهيونية المتعلقة بدروز فلسطين عن التيارات الفكرية والمواقف السياسية المتباينة لأبناء الطائفة الدرزية تجاه المؤسسة الصهيونية، وتحاول تصوير أبناء هذه الطائفة كأنهم جسم واحد يتماهى مع الحركة الصهيونية متناسين أن سميح القاسم، شاعر المقاومة الفلسطينية، هو واحد من أبناء هذه الطائفة، ومثله كثيرون يقفون سداً مانعاً لمنع سلب الهوية العربية الفلسطينية للطائفة الدرزية الفلسطينية.
