يعد الأتجار بالبشر ظاهرة عالمية تنتشر في معظم دول العالم إن لم يكن كلها, حيث تتفاعل المتغيرات الدولية مع المتغيرات والظروف المحلية في إعادة إنتاج الرق والسخرة بأشكال مختلفة إلي العالم الحديث, وإن أختلفت تلك التجارة من دولة لأخري, إما بإختلاف صورها وأنماطها, وإما بإختلاف موقع كل دولة من سوق الأتجار بوصفها دولة معبر أو مقصد لتلك التجارة, أو بوصفها دولة مصدر أو منشأ لها.
وحيث أن مصر كغيرها من الدول ليست غائبة عن تلك التغيرات والمشكلات فقد تم إنشاء اللجنة الوطنية التنسيقيه بقرار من رئيس مجلس الوزراء في يوليو 2007 لتتولي التصدي لمكافحة الأتجار بالأشخاص في المجتمع المصري.
وبإعتبار أن الوقاية تعتمد علي جمع المعلومات وإجراء البحوث العلمية حول وضعية مشاكل الإتجار والأبعاد المختلفة المرتبطة بأنماطها وتوزيعاتها والأعراف والتقاليد التي تفرزها, لذلك كان قرار تلك اللجنة بالتعاون مع المركز القومي للبحوث الإجتماعية والجنائية لإعداد دراسة متكاملة حول الأتجار بالبشر في المجتمع المصري للتعرف علي مدي أنتشاره, والأنماط التي يفرزها الواقع المصري, بما يساعد علي تحديد أساليب المواجهة تشريعاً, وتنظيمياً, ومجتمعياً.
ويأتي هذا البحث في هذا الإطار حيث أختص بدراسة موضوع "الأتجار في الأعضاء البشرية في إطار الأتجار بالبشر" بأعتباره مشكلة إجتماعية تحتاج لسبر أغوارها إمبريقياً لتحديد مدي علاقتها بجرائم الأتجار بالبشر والعوامل الفاعلة في ذلك, لحماية مجتمعنا من المخاطر الإجتماعية والإقتصادية والسياسية لتلك المشكلات بوصفها أنتهاكاً لكل حقوق الإنسان التي أقرتها الأديان السماوية ونصت عليها المواثيق والأتفاقات الدولية.
