هذا الكتاب الذى بين أيديكم هو حصيلة عشر سنوات من المعارك مع داعة هذا التيار المنادى بالدولة الدينية من خلال المقالات الصحفية وهذه المعارك كان أغلبها مع أفكار واقلها مع أشخاص ولكنها على الدوام كانت معارك منحازة للعقل وداعية الى الدولة المدينة العلمانية. إن القضايا التى يثيرها الكتاب لن تحل الا على أيدى الدولة المدنية والتفكير العلمانى الذى لا ينفى الدين ولكنه ينفى تحكم رجال الدين الذى يحل المشكلات بناء على قرءاة الواقع وليس بناء على قراءة الواقع وليس بناء على قراءة العنعنات القديمة التفكير الذى ينظر الى المستقبل ولا يقع أسير الماضى ويحلم بالحرية حتى لا يطارده كابوس القهر تفكير يقيس نجاحاته بعمق التغيير وليس بطول وطرح الأسئلة وليس بحف الشوارب وتقصير الجلاليب.
