يشتمل هذا الكتاب على معالجات لتطور السياسة الإسرائيلية. إزاء القضية الفلسطينية منذ عام 1996 وتحديدا منذ صعود بنيامين نبتانياهو إلى الحكم فى إسرائيل فى الانتخابات التى أعقبت اغتيال إسحق رابين وذلك يعنى أن هذه المعالجات تغطى التطور السياسى فى إسرائيل عبر فترة تمتد لأكثر من ستة أعوام هى بحق وكما عبر عن ذلك العديد من الباحثين فترة عدم استقرار سياسي وتقلب بين اليمين واليسار بين خيار التسويق وخيار فرض الأمر الواقع بالقوة الإسرائيلية. وتتمحور هذه المعالجات على الربط بين تغير المجتمع الإسرائيلي تركيبته العرقية، والثقافية والنفسية وعمقه الدينة والتاريخي ومراوحته المزمنة بين الاستقرار وعدم الاستقرار وبين طموحه الى التفرد والفرادة ورغبته فى أن يصبح مجتمعا عاديا يحظى بالأمن وبعلاقات وطيدة مع جيرانه ومحيطه العربي ومحصلة ذلك وانعكاسة على الموقف من التسويق و الصراع مع العرب، والشعب الفلسطيني بعبارة أخرى فإن المعالجات الواردة ضمن هذا الكتاب لم تقف تبناها عبر هذه الفترة وإنما حاول أيضا تقديم تفسير لتبنى هذه الخيارات وإخراج الدوافع التى حثت على استلهام هذه الخيارات من حيز اللاوعى الإسرائيلي إلى حيز الوعي وذلك على ضوء المستجدات الإقليمية والداخلية والدولية والاستراتيجية الإسرائيلية للتعامل.
