الكتاب الثالث من قصص: أغاثا فتاة الألغاز وهو بعنوان «لعنة الفرعون» الوجهة إلى مصر، وادي الملوك، والهدف هو اكتشاف المسؤول عن سرقة تحفة قديمة من موقع أثري في وادي الملوك، حيث تغرب الشمس وينام الفراعنة في قبورهم منذ آلاف السنين، ويتعين الحذر من لعنة توت عنج آمون.
وفي هذه القصة يتلقى داش رسالة من مدرسته "آي، التحقيق الدولية"، والمطلوب هو أن يخضع لاختبار نهائي في مادة أساليب التحقيق؛ سيكون لديه ثلاثة أيام فقط لاكتشاف هوية من سرق لوح طيني كُتب باللغة الهيروغليفية ويخصّ فرعوناً غامضاً من موقع أثري في وادي الملوك، ستبدأ رحلة البحث عن اللوح بثلاثة من التحري وهم "داش" وابنة عمه "أغاثا" و مساعدهم "تشارلز" وأولى المهام هي فك شيفرة الجُمل القليلة على اللوح، والمفاجأة هي عبارة تقول "ستصيبكم لعنة الفرعون إن لم تغادروا بحلول الفجر!". ولكن حبّ المغامرة والاكتشاف والشهرة لن يثني التحري عن إكمال المهمة، وخاصة بعد اكتشاف مقبرة الفرعون اللعين، ما يعني أن اللوح لم يسرقه أحد!!.
