هذا الكتاب محاولة لإمعان النظر فيما حولنا، علي المستوي الفردي والجماعي، وطرح عناصر أساسية تكفي للإحاطة بقصة الأوزون.. وتجعلنا علي جانب من الاطلاع العلمي لها، حيث إن طبقة الأوزون هي الطبقة التي تحيط بالغلاف الجوي إحاطة كاملة.. وتقوم بدور المرشح الطبيعي والدرع الواقي الذي يحيط بالأرض، ليحميها من الأشعة- الضارة- فوق البنفسجية، وهي ذات تأثيرات سلبية علي صحة الإنسان، كما تقلل من نمو النبات وإنتاج المحاصيل الزراعية، وتؤثر في نظم البيئة المائية، والحياة لدي الحيوانات.
إلا أن النشاط البشري وما استحدثه الإنسان من تكنولوجيا في تخليق المواد الكيميائية، أدى بعض منها إلي تدمير طبقة الأوزون، لذا وجب علينا الوقوف بشكل علمي لدراسة أبعاد هذه المشكلة.
