هذا الكتاب محاولة منهجية للاصغاء إلى صوت المرأة العربية، من خلال الحفر في ذاكرة النصوص، وإعادة قراءة خطابات المرأة في الفكر والإبداع والصحافة، ورصد ملامح وعليها بالمفاهيم والقضايا (التعليم، الآخر، الرجل، الزواج) والسعي إلى البحث في مستوى مساهمتها في بناء الثقافة العربية الحديثة، وفي إغناء أسئلة التفكير العربي، من أجل اضاءة جوانب من الحضور النسائي العربي نقارب لتجربتين لفكر خطابهما الفكري والابداعي، واحدة عربية مصرية ساهمت فيها عناصر شاكية ومصرية من خلال وصف وتحليل انطولوجي لزينب فواز العاملي الدر المنثور في طبقات ربات الخدور، وثانية عربية مغربية ارتأينا من خلالها تقديم مقاربة أولية لدور المرأة المغربية في تأسيس عناصر النهضة المغربية التي بدأت معالمها تتضح مع بداية الاستقلال، وذلك من خلال البحث في علاقة المرأة بالكتابة منذ الثلاثينات من القرن العشرين.
وهدفنا في عملية الجمع بين تجربتين عربيتين مختلفتين من حيث سباق الانتاج وزمن الخطاب، يتمثل في النظر إلى ما يميز كل تجربة على حدة ضمن سياقها الخاص، لأن عملية التعميم التي تطال مجموعة من الدراسات من شأنها أن تقصي الخصوصيات السياقية، ولكوننا ننظر أيضاً إلى التجربة الثقافية من تنوعها وتعددها واختلافها، ولعل هذا ما يمنح المشروعية إلى كل تجربة على حدة، ولعل إعادة قراءة هذه النصوص بعد مرور زمن طويل من شأنها أن تعيد منطق ترتيب الأفكار في ذاكرة الثقافة العربية ويعيد لزمن التأسيس المعرفي والابداعي والأجناسي الاعتبار لأشكال التفكير، ولوسائل التعبير التي ساهمت في انتاجها المرأة العربية.
