مع بداية الثورة اللبنانية في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر تحولت إحدى مشاريع مادة "القصص المصوّرة البديلة" إلى واقعٍ جديدٍ أكثر ضوحاً وتخاطباً مع التأثير العميق والكبير لتجربة الطلاب في الشارع الثائر الذي أصبحوا جزءاً منه. القصص المصوّرة في هذا الكتاب بدأ العمل بها في أواخر تشرين الأول/أكتوبر وامتدّ إلى بدايات كانون الأول/ديسمبر في الوقت الذي احتدمت فيه ثورة تشرين وشكلت سِيَرة ذاتية ومدونات شخصية وحصيلة أفكار ورسومات طلابٍ عاشت الثورة.
هذا الكتاب هو نتيجة مادة "القصص المصوّرة البديلة" التي وضعتها وأشرفت عليها الأستاذة لينة غيبة ضمن برنامج التصميم، لدى فرع الهندسة المعمارية والتصميم في كليّة مارون سمعان للهندسة والعمارة في الجامعة الأميركيّة. الطبعة الثانية تتميز بغلافٍ جديدٍ للكتاب مستوحى من مرسومات شوارع الثورة ويتضمن ملصقات من الأعمال.
