هذا الكتاب يسعى لإكساب الطالب مهارات التعامل مع البيانات الكمية ومعالجتها إحصائياً بإستخدام الطرق الإحصائية الملائمة لنوع هذه البيانات، واختبار فروض بحثه وكيفية اختيار العينة وتحديد حجمها بطريقة مبسطه، ويضم الكتاب سبعة فصول تضمنت: أنواع البيانات ومصادرها، والمقاييس في البحوث الإجتماعية من حيث أنواعها والخطوات المنهجية في بناء المقياس ويتناول الكتاب ثبات الأداة البحثية وطرق حسابه، ومفهوم الصدق وأنواعه واختبار الفروض مدعوماً بالطرق الإحصائية الأكثر استخداماً في هذا الاختبار في البحوث الإجتماعية، كما يضم الكتاب فصلين حول العينات إذ يختص الفصل السادس بالعينات العشوائية وطرق سحبها والشروط الواجب توافرها لكل نوع، ويعرض الفصل السابع العينات غير العشوائية والذي يتناول بالشرح مصادر الخطأ في العينة البحثية، وقد روعى في المادة العلمية لهذا المؤلف أن يكون متصفاً بالسهولة والوضوح.
