ويعتبر الإنسان قوة منتجة وهو في نفس الوقت الغاية من كل نشاط إقتصادي, وتتوقف طاقته الإنتاجية علي ما يتمتع به من تعليم وثقافة وما يملكه من مهارة وقدرة علي التعامل مع التكنولوجيا, ونتيجة للمتغيرات الجديدة في العالم تزايدت أهمية تنمية الموارد البشرية القادرة علي التعامل مع تلك المتغيرات لذا كان علي الدول الراغبة في التقدم أن تسعي لتنمية مواردها البشرية.
وأنطلاقاً من ذلك فإن هذا الكتاب يشتمل علي تسعة فصول حيث تناول الفصل الأول مفهوم التنمية البشرية, والفصل الثاني تناول مؤشرات التنمية البشرية, وتناول الفصل الثالث التنمية البشرية في كوريا الجنوبية, بينما الفصل الرابع تناول التنمية البشرية في ماليزيا, والفصل الخامس تناول التنمية البشرية في جمهورية مصر العربية, بينما الفصل السادس تناول التحديات العالمية التي تواجه المجتمع المصري, وتناول الفصل السابع التحديات الإقليمية والمحلية التي تواجه المجتمع المصري ودور الجامعة في مواجهتها, وتناول الفصل الثامن دور جامعة الأزهر في التنمية البشرية في ضوء وظائف الجامعة, بينما الفصل التاسع تناول رؤية المسئولين والخبراء حول أساليب تطوير التعليم الجامعي لتحقيق معدلات مرتفعة للتنمية البشرية.
وفي النهاية أرجو من الله أن أكون قد وفقت في هذا العمل وأن ينفع به طلاب العلم ويحقق الفائدة المرجوة منه.
