نظراً لتنامي أنماط سلوكيا إجرامية في المجتمع المصري وانعكاسها فى شكل محتوى لوسائل الإعلام وبخاصة التليفزيون، ونظراً لازدياد التعرض لهذه المضامين، فإن هذه الدراسة تسعى إلى تقديم رؤية علمية لتفسير العلاقة بين التعرض للتليفزيون من ناحية وبين معارف وقيم وتصورات المشاهدين لمشكلة الجريمة فى مصر من ناحية أخرى بهدف التعرف على صور وأشكال الجرائم التى وردت فى العمل الدرامي والتعرف على الدوافع التي تبعث المجرم على ارتكاب الجريمة، والتعرف على أحكام المشاهدين على مدى صدق وواقعية ما نقدمه الأعمال الدرامية من جرائم، والتعرف على كيفية معالجة الجريمة فى الأعمال الدامية المعروضة بالتليفزيون المصري.
