وقد يحظى أيضاً هذا الكتاب بإهتمام صناع السياسة التعليمية والذين يؤدون دوراً داعماً في المدارس، فغرضنا من تأليف هذا الكتاب "المدرسة الذكية" أن نقدم مصدراً عملياً للمدارس لتمكينها من الوصول بجهودها للتحسين إلى الحد الأقصى، وهدفنا أن نساعد المدارس أن تكون مؤسسات ذكية، وبعبارة أخرى، أن تصبح قادرة على تركيب أنواع شتى من المعرفة والخبرة والأفكار حتى تكون واثقة من الإنجازات الحالية، ويكون لديها القدرة على إتخاذ القرارات فيما يجب أن تفعله في المراحل القادمة.

مقصدنا من كتاب "المدرسة الذكية" أن يتمكن من إستخدامه كل معلم بمفرده، وجماعات من المعلمين، وجميع طاقم الموظفين بالمدرسة، ويقدم الفصل الأول السياق العام للكتاب، وفي الفصول اللاحقة ينتهي كل منها ببعض الأسئلة للتفكير، لتقديم برنامج للمناقشة والتأمل، ويمكن أن يستخدم كل معلم هذه الأسئلة أو يستخدمها جماعات من المعلمين أو كعامل مساعد لجلسات النمو المهني القائم على المدرسة.
أما الفصل الذي يعرض الذكاءات التسعة فيقدم إطاراً لطاقم الموظفين كجماعة لإختبار قدرتهم على إحداث التحسين، وقد حاولنا صوغ الأفكار والأسئلة بطريقة كما لو كنا نعرض تحدياً وتأييداً - في الوقت ذاته - للمدارس في جهودها من أجل إيجاد فرق حقيقي فيما يتعلق بجودة التعليم التي تقدمها لتلاميذها.
