والأمثلة كثيرة لم نأخذ منها في هذا الكتاب إلا ما يكفي كمؤشر لاتجاهاته، ونموذج لأسلوب حكومته بعد أن تحولت الخلافة بعد الثلاثين عامًا الأولى "إلى ملك عضود"! وتولى عمر إمارة المؤمنين سنة 99 الهجرية!
وبعد.. فإن هذا الكتاب لا يمكن أن يحوي- على صغره- سيرة هذا الرجل الفذ فإن ذلك يتطلب الكثير من البحث والكثير من الزمن مما لم يتح لي ولكنه- في الواقع- مجرد محاولة لرصد بعض الحقائق وبعض الأدلة والشواهد على أن الدولة الإسلامية قد ظفرت في الفترة ما بين 99- 101هـ برأس مفكر مدبر، وضمير نقي وقلب خاشع عابد، ويد برة نظيفة، وإنجازات مدهشة في كل مجال، وسبق حضاري يفوق كل تصور!
ومن العجيب حقًا أن يحدث كل ذلك كمًا ونوعًا في فترة لا تزيد على سنتين وخمسة أشهر!
وختامًا فنأمل أن يجد شبابنا من قراء وقارئات هذا الكتاب الفائدة والمتعة وسبل الاهتداء والاقتداء وبالله التوفيق..
