المجموعة القصصية «انتحار غير مقصود» للقاص والأديب العراقي "دلشـاد نجـم" ، على اختلاف مواضيعها، ترسم لمحنة الإنسان الأزلية، فالهزيمة حتمية بلا شك، لكن روح التحدي حاضرة أيضًا، بحثًا عن الخلود، لذلك فإن القصص تبدو وكأنها لحظات من حدث أكبر، أو كأنها تختزل أحداثًا أكبر، لكنها بتكثيفها تمد القارئ بخيط أثيري يستمر عالقًا بينه وبين القصة، وهو أمر لا بد منه كي تستمر القصة في الحياة.
ولأن معركة الخلود تعوقها آلات الموت والحصار، فإن الحرب حاضرة أيضًا في قصص المجموعة، وهي ترسم لخيط حياة رفيع يتعرج ويضيق ويقترب أحيانًا من النبض الحقيقي للموت؛ كما في قصة (ذاكرة الشَعر).. خيط يراوغ؛ لكنه يفلت أخيرًا ليكون خيارًا نهائيًا كما في قصة (انتحار غير مقصود)، أو ليقود إلى معادلة الخلود؛ ،التي قد نكملها يومًا ما، كما في في قصة (مُولد المصادفات)... وحيث تحتل الطفولة في مخيلة الكاتب حيزًا بالغ الأهمية، فإن قصص (ذاكرة القلب) من المجموعة ذاتها تحمل أسماء رفاق المدرسة، يرثي بهم الماضي الجميل، أو يعترف لهم بالحب الذي لم يكن ممكنًا البوح به في ذلك العمر.. إنها رسائله إليهم، وهي رسائل متأخرة؛ لكن لابد منها.
