لم يلق الحديث الشريف -على خطورته- العناية التى هو جدير بها، لكونه المصدر الثاني لمبادئ الإسلام. ينطبق هذا الكلام على جميع المعارف الإسلامية، وبخاصة ما دار منها حول بلاغة الحديث الشريف، لأن الإيمان بالإعجاز القرآني كاد يواري كل شيء آخر. وإلى عصرنا الحديث لا تحظى البلاغة الحديثية بالحيز المناسب لها، وكان هذا ما دفع خالد علي حسن داود إلى أن يخصص كتابه الذى بين يدي القارئ الآن لموضوع (البديع في الحديث النبوي الشريف دراسة بلاغية فى صحيح البخاري) يعالج فيها البديع في الحديث النبوي الشريف، وهو موضوع يشكر معالجه. ويستهدف الكتاب التأكيد على صلاحية المنهج البلاغي التقليدى، دون الانغلاق عليه أو عزله عن المناهج النقدية الحديثة. ومن ثم اتخذ المؤلف المنهج البلاغى التقليدى الذى يقارن بين البنية الأدبية والبنية الأصلية المفترضة للكشف عن أدبية النص.
جميل من المؤلف أن يضع أمامه هدفاً محدداً، يهديه في كل خطى عمله، وأن يصل إلى هذا الهدف عن طريق منهج يحدد كنهه وأبعاده ومحاذيره، ولذلك جعل الكاتب كتابه قسمين: نظري وتطبيقي. وشغلت الدراسة النظرية أقوال البلاغيين القدماء في داسة أبواب البلاغة وما اتصل بها، وتميز فيها بالشمول والتقصي، والوقوف عند الاختلافات وإبانة الراي فيها، وضع كل هذا فى الباب الأول. وشغلت الدراسة التطبيقية التى أراها عمود الكتاب، وتشتمل على بابين: الأول للأحاديث في مؤلفات القدماء. والثاني للأحاديث في صحيح البخاري. وقد تتبع في الباب الأخير أنواع البديع واحداً واحداً، وأفاض في دراسته وتتبع الأحاديث التى تندرج تحته وما قيل عنها. وشخصية الكاتب واضحة فى كل أبواب الكتاب وفصوله، قد يختلف القارئ معه في بعض أفكاره وموضوعاته، ولكنى أعتقد أنه لا بد أن يقدر الجهد الذى بذله فيه، وتميز بالشمول والاستقصاء.
