ينقسم الكتاب إلى ثمانية فصول يتناول الفصل الأول أوضاع القراءة في العالم العربي.. الإشكاليات والأطروحات ويوضح أن دور القارئ لا يقتصر على مجرد قراءة النص ولكن نقده وإعادة إنتاجه واستغلاله في حياته الشخصية وأؤكد على مبدأ القراءة من أجل الحياة، أما الفصل الثاني فيوضح للقارئ كيفية اختيار الكتاب، وعنوان الكتاب هو أول ما يطالعه القارئ وللعنوان دور كبير في معرفة محتوى الكتاب كما يثير العنوان الأسئلة والحوارات بين القارئ والكتاب، أما الفصل الثالث بعنوان المواقع الثقافية الالكترونية، ويتحدث الفصل الرابع عن الكتب الالكترونية ولا يوجد حتى الآن تعريف معتمد للكتاب الالكتروني وأعرض في هذا الفصل أنواعه وأشكاله ومنها الكتب المعروضة على الانترنت والكتب المخزنة، وفي الفصل الخامس أتحدث عن التسويق الالكتروني للقراءة؛ والفصل السادس يعرض التجارب الدولية في دعم وتشجيع القراءة، وأتحدث فيه عن أهمية الاحتفال بيوم الكتاب العالمي، أما الفصل السابع: مبادرات القراءة العربية ويتناول فيه الكتاب المتنقل وتاكسي القراءة وغيرها من حملات دعم التشجيع على القراءة في البلدان العربية، وأخيرًا الفصل الثامن أتحدث عن تجربتي الشخصية في تشجيع القراءة.
