ويزخر السودان بوصفه أحد أكبر أقطار القارة الأفريقية بثروة تراثية ضخمة تتمثل في التنوع البيئي القبلي والثقافي والفكري المشترك فهو كبلد بهذه الصورة تبدو حياته في تناغم مع كياناتها المختلفة، الأمر الذي سيسهم حقاً في تنمية السياحة بالطرق المنهجية العلمية المطلوبة لهذا الغرض، ومن ثم الارتقاء بالأمة التي لا يمكن لها أن تتقدم حضارياً إلا بالقيام بنهضة تنموية تستوعب روح العصر من خلال واقعها الثقافي وتسعى للتلاقح بين إيجابياته والاستفادة من تجارب الأمم الأخرى.
وأجتهد المؤلف في البحث عن الإجابة على السؤال الذي يطرح حول مدى إمكانية وكيفية توظيف الفولكلور السوداني في السياحة في السودان سيما أن المؤلف قد لاحظ وجود العديد من الأجناس الفولكلورية بموضوعاتها وبأشكالها المتنوعة التي يمكن توظيفها في تنمية السياحة في السودان داخلياً وخارجياً تعكس شتى ضروب الثقافة السودانية وتدعم الدولة إقتصادياً وحضارياً الأمر الذي دعا الباحث للتصدي لهذه المشكلة.
