"أدب الكاتب" لابن قُتيبة الدَنيوريّ (ت 276هـ) أَحد أَركان الأَدب الأَربعة التي ذكرها ابن خلدون، ورأى ما سواها فرعاً عليها وخَلَفاً منها، وهو مَتْنٌ لغويِّ فريدٌ من متون العربية الجيادِ العِتَاقِ الأُوَل، كان حفظه عن ظهر قلب مِمَا يضطلع به صغار المتعلِّمين وشُداة العربيَة، وفيه مقيّدات من أسرار اللُّغة لا يعدمُ النَاظر فيها فوائد جمَّة.
في هذا الكُتَيِّب اللّطيف الجِرُم اختيارات لبعض أبوابه قدّرت صاحبتُهُ أَنّها من أجود ما فيه وأنفعه، ولعلّ هذه المختارات تكون صوَى تُغْري النَاظر إليها بالعودة إلى النًّهَلِ من الأصل.
