نشأ في مدينة سعيدة، تخرّج من جامعة وهران (ليسانس آداب ودراسات ما بعد التخرّج).
اشتغل بالتّدريس وساهم في الصحافة الجزائرية والعربية.

احتشد المارون في ساحة المغرب العربي (لاباستي، سابقا) حتى حدود كنيسة الروح القدس المخرس بابها، على تذكار تفجيرٍ في ليلة صيفية كان شتت أشلاءً جسديْ أُسقفها كلافيري ومحمد سائقه الشخصي، وعند الأكشاك الأربعة، كأبراج رُكْنية لحصنٍ اندثرت أسواره: نساء ورجالا، فتيانا وصبايا بأعمار متفتحة وأخرى آيلة إلى ذبول، في أزياء ربيعية وأخرى لا تزال تحمل آثار شتاء المدينة الساحلي، ومن شرفات بناية وهران بويلدينغ أطلت وجوه عتيقة لأزواج من بقايا الأقدام السوداء تحتها، من حانة فالوريس (سابقا)، خرج بكؤوس قهوتهم المعصورة مَن تبقى من زبائن كانوا، قبل حوالي ثلث قرن، شبابا وكهولا متوثبين يحتسون البيرة فيها مع الڤَطعة بالمرڤاز والدولمْة والعصبان والسردينة المشوية والبصل والليم أو يشربون الپاستيس مع الكَمْية بالحمص والفول والببّوش بالملح والكمون وأنواع زيتون السيڤية الملحّم بألوانه الخضراء والسوداء والبنفسجية خاصة. أو هذا الشراب أو ذاك مع هذه الڤَطعة أو تلك الكَمْية. كانوا يرفعون كئوسا أخرى، بشراب آخر، أنخابا لأيام أفراح غيّبها أفول زمانهم وخذلتهم فيها شيخوختهم ــ فإن عبدقا النڤريطو لم يكن حدّثني إلا قليلا مما يُبكي قلبه على زمن وهران.
