لماذا يعجز العلم عن التفسير؟ هل هي صدفة حقًا أن تجالس شخصًا فتفتن به من الوهلة الأولى وترافق آخر فتنفر منه في الحال؟ هل هي صدفة أن يحمل لك صوت حدأة بشارة، وينعي إليك خبرًا صوت غراب؟ ما التفسير المنطقي لظاهرة التخاطر، كأن تتوقع رسالة من شخص بعيد فيهاتفك في الليلة نفسها، أو يدق على بابك بعد هنيهات؟
كثيرًا ما نرى بعض الظواهر الغريبة مثل السحر والتنجيم وما يشابهه، والتي قد يؤمن بها بعضنا، هذه الظواهر الخارقة أو الظواهر التي ليس لها تفسير من الناحية العلمية والتي يطلق عليها العلماء بالباراسيكولوجيا أي الدراسة العلمية لبعض الظواهر الطبيعية التي ربما تكون أو تظهر كخارقة كالوساطة الروحية والتي في محاولة بعض الأشخاص بالاتصال مع بعض الأرواح، والباراسيكولوجيا أو الدراسة العلمية للظواهر الخارقة تحتاج لعدة دراسات ومن عدة اتجاهات كدراسة الحوادث التي يتعرض لها الشخص أثناء ممارسته لتلك الظواهر، الباراسيكولوجية تنقسم إلى قسمين رئيسين هما التحريك الخارق أي التحكم بحركات جسم الإنسان أو بجسمه كليًا دون أن يحدث أي حركة أو أي إطراء للجهاز الحركي والتحكم به عن بعد.
العقل فوق المادة وهذا التحكم يكون عن طريق التحكم العقلي لا بالتحكم الفيزيائي أو التحكم الواضح ومنها على بعض المعادن دون استخدام العضلات، وأما القسم الثاني فهو الإدراك الحسي الفائق ومن أبرز أنواعه التحريك الخارق هو التخاطر والذي هو الاتصال غير المدرك بين أطراف الظاهرة دون استخدام أي حاسة من الحواس الخمسة ومن أبرزها أيضًا معرفة الأحداث المستقبلية ومن أبرزها أيضًا معرفة معلومات عن حادثة بعيدة أو شيء بعيد دون تدخل أي من الحواس الخمسة وأيضًا كالمشي على الفحم الساخن أو ملامسة النار ومنها الروح الضوضائية كتعلق بعض الأشياء في الهواء والباراسيكولوجية التي تنقسم وتتجزأ لعدة فروع ما هي إلا تحقق من بعض الظواهر التي تحير الإنسان.
