هذا الكتاب مشروع دراسة اجتماعية انثروبولوجية..الهدف منها رصد التغيرات التى طرأت على المجتمع المصرى من خلال قراءة فى الرسائل التى يضعها الناس فى أضرحة الأولياء سواء أكانت تغيرات فى الوعى او الاحتياجات أو طبيعة المشكلات. وقد احتزت الكاتبة طريق الدكتور / سيد عويس فى رصد ظاهرة إرسال الرسائل إلى ضريح الإمام الشافعى التى جمعها الدكتور سيد عويس والذى نشر فى عام1965 وبين الرسائل المرسلة الى ضريح السيدة نفيسة عام 2008 (عصر ثورة التكنولوجيا والاتصالات) وذلك من خلال دراسة لهذه الرسائل عن طريق تحليل المضمون ..سيكون من شأنها أن توضح لنا التغيرات التى طرأت على المصريين خلال خمسين عاما . ومن خلال هذا البحث أدركت الكاتبة أن هذه الرسائل تحمل فى طياتها دليل إدانة لنظام الرئيس السابق مبارك . فأغلب الطلبات لم تكن طلبات قدرية بقدر ما كانت طلبات تدل على عجز الدولة على الوفاء بالتزاماتها الأساسية تجاه المواطن المصرى . فنجد من بين هذه الطلبات خطابا يطلب صاحبه العلاج على نفقة الدولة أو شكاوى لوزارة الصحة يئس أصحابها من أن يرد عليهم أحد . فأرسلوا خطاباتهم للسيدة نفيسة حتى تشفع لهم عند وزير الصحة أو غيره من المسئولين فينجز الطلب.
