يمثّل كتاب "اللفظ المكرم بخصائص النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم" للقطب الخيضري كتاباً هاماً من كتب التراث الإسلامي، ونظراً لأهميته ولأن المكتبة الإسلامية عموماً، ومكتبة الحديث خصوصاً في حاجة ماسة إلى إحياء مثل هذا التراث العظيم، قام المحقق بهذا الإسهام من خلال عمله في تحقيق هذا المخطوط القيّم ليكون مرجعاً هاماً في الخصائص النبوية، لطلاب العلم وذلك نظراً لقيمته العلمية، ومكانته بين كتب السنّة المشرفة، وحاجة المسلمين الشديدة إليه، ونظراً لمكانة مؤلفه بين علماء الحديث، حيث قام بتحقيق وتخريج أحاديثه (أكثر من ألف حديث)، وتوضيح غامضه، وشرح غريبه، وذكر أسماء السور، وأرقام الآيات.
والجدير بالذكر أن المحقق قام بدحض أغلاط المستشرقين، ولغط المتعصبين فيما نسبوه زوراً إلى نبي الإسلام. بالإضافة إلى ذلك قام المحقق باستهلال الكتاب بمقدمة اشتملت على خمسة مباحث: 1-في مؤلف الخصائص (عصره، اسمه، نسبه..)، 2-دراسة كتاب اللفظ المكرم بخصائص النبي صلى اله عليه وسلم، (اسم المخطوط ونسبته إلى المؤلف، مخطوطات اللفظ المكرم بخصائص النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، أسس اختبار النص)، 3-منهج المؤلف وطريقة تأليفه، 4-منهجه في التحقيق، 5-في تقييم الخصائص وتحليلها (خصائص القطب الخيضري في الميزان، عرض وتحليل لمحتويات المخطوط، هذا وقد ذكر المحقق في التمهيد حسب اختياره للمخطوط. وأخيراً الخاتمة التي ضمّت نتائج البحث وعرض المقترحات.
