أرجو أن يستمتع القارئ بهذه الوجبة الدسمة التى قدمها منذ قرن تقريبا 1903 بلغة انجليزية غاية في الكمال والجمال عالم وشاعر عظيم أحب مصر وبهرته حضارتها القديمة.. ولقد حاولت - قدر جهدى- أن أنقل روح هذا العمل فأبقيت على شكل الجمل الطويلة المركبة التى تميزت بها لغة الزمن الذي كتب فيه هذا الكتاب لانها أضفت على العمل رصانة تاريخية خصوصا عندما ترجمت ما نقله المؤلف عن القدماء بلغة فيكتورية غير معتادة اليوم.
أما أسماء الآلهة والأماكن فقد حرصت على تقديمها بالعربية والانجليزية والهيروغليفية عسى ان يجد فيها القارئ المتخصص ما لم أره واضحا فضلا عن أن النصوص الهيروغليفية التى كتب اسفلها ترجمة عربية حرفية نقلت بشكلها الذي يقرأ من اليمين لليسار لتتوافق مع الكتابة العربية. المترجم محمد حسين يونس
